WHAT WEED HAS DONE TO ME...

#0, by ieatlionsandtigers, 13 February 2011 12:12 PM

Hi,

Im new to this site and having a quick scan through the posts I get the feeling that I might have stumbled across a source of help.

I have been smoking cannabis since I was 13 which is about 17years of nearly contant use.  I graduated from school and university and found work in the TV industry.  There have been gaps in the use but it is always something I come back to.

Weed has ruined nearly every realtionship with woman and it seems as if I last 6 months until sopmething bad happens to ruin the bond.

I like the feeling of being stoned but it effecting several parts of my life to the degree where I dont actualy know who i am anymore.

Today is the first day in a long time I have woken up and not gone for a smoke.  The problem is that I rarely smoke joints.  Instead its usually in a bong or a jet-bag (or lungy etc).  This is about getting a fast huge hit of THC which is like smoking a joint pure to yourself.  Sometimes I have been known to do 2 or 3 before i start work in a morning, followed by another a lunch and 2-3 after work before I actually get home.

I have recently lost a 7 month relationship which ended very badly.  My partner was addicted to the opiate Tramedol, which she gave up for me recently after 8 years of use.  Thyis motivated me to stop my habit but I gave into cravings a few times.  The end was when I drank a bottle of vodka and turned into a monster getting pyhsical to try and remove her from my house.  Police where involved and they took her home.

This cannot continue.

Hello and welcome, ieatlionaandtigers.

TV? Does that put you in LA, NYC or Toronto? I'm in LA and MA has lots of meetings here...one or more on every day of the week. It's not a surprise to see industry-types here and there. When you get to a meeting - sooner is better than the alternative - I think you'll hear stories that you will easily identify with. The cool part is that MA offers a proven solution.

Glad you found us: Keep Coming Back.

Thanks guys,

No Im from the UK.  I no longer work in the tv industry but I run two businesses now, one being creative and the other retail.  I cannot make it over the pond so im stuck to emails im afraid.  Unfortunatly, there is no funding for doctors to treat patients coming off weed, cocaine or speed. Yet these are class A and B drugs with jail terms for offences.  Sometimes it would be easier to have a smack habit as they have a fantastic detox program for that over here.

Ive been to Redondo beach by the way, nice place!
